Island Sightseeing and Highlights for People with Limited Mobility

Board your air-conditioned transportation and begin your scenic drive-by tour to Panorama Hill. High above the port town of Coxen Hole, spectacular views of your ship at dock and the surrounding villages can be seen. Continue on through Dixon's Cove, a famous pirate hideout and pass by two historic shipwrecks, the "Tulung" and the "Alexandria" which are visible from the shore.

A series of small communities follow and you'll delight in the colorful little towns of Brick Bay, Mount Pleasant and the fishing village of French Harbor, were you will see the Garifuna Community and the hideout of the French pirates back in the 1700's. Next a visit to Sherman's Iguana Refuge is an attraction you don't want to miss. One of the island's most beloved sights, this family owned sanctuary is a safe haven for over 2,700 iguanas. Iguanas are hunted for food in Roatan, so this sanctuary is more than an attraction; it is saving the creatures from extinction. Photograph these amazing reptiles, when they are shown to you at sanctuary parking lot.

Continue your scenic drive stopping at the View "El Mirador" at the top of First Bight community. This photo stop includes panoramic vistas of the island surrounded by the world famous barrier reef and beautiful turquoise waters and the Black Pearl Golf court. If desired, purchase souvenirs to bring home.

Our last stop will be at Parrot Tree Plantation; the island's most exclusive community, located on the south side of Roatan, here you'll see grand Mediterranean-style homes covering over 200-acres. The views overlooking the ocean are breath taking and many of these architectural homes have impressive gardens. Drive towards the seaside, where your guide will escort you to a quaint coffee shop or beach bar for a refreshing drink.
